Hoi An city tour and a little bit different cookery class

Today was one of those days which actually felt like a holiday, everyone had the morning of and did whatever they wanted to do.  Most of the Ladies went shopping and the men enjoyed a lay in followed by an extended breakfast.
We all met up at noon to go on a walking tour through the beautiful streets of Hoi An.  I really love the architecture of the old town, the little houses, shopfronts and cafes, simply stunning and very different to all the other asian city we visited so far.

people wondering through the narrow alleyways

Guess what these people queuing for.....a fortune teller, who apparently has a good reputation of telling the future.  This queue went on for ages and it was very hot!

Another pretty road

The local fish market...the smells were intoxicating

Bondage crab...and yes they are still alive at hat point

Squid, squid and more squid

The ladies hanging out at their food stall

Beautiful lanterns handcrafted

A chinese temple

Even the convenient stores are pretty

In the evening 9 of us, went to a cooking school to learn some vietnamese basics.  Alex was a bit disappointed that all the ingredients were already chopped  for us and all we had to do was putting them in a pan...anyway we learned a lot and it was super tasty.

Alex in his element.  Very focused on his vietnamese pancake.

Alex and my pancake off....I think I won :)

Our team of guides and mechanics enjoying the beers, they were such a happy bunch of people

don't drop it
